SUMMARY:Using Outcomes to help People and Communities address Health Inequalities
DESCRIPTION:With funding from the EIJB\, over the past 6 months\,  ECHF members have been working together to understand the contribution of their work to improving outcomes for people and communities and in addressing health inequalities. \nAlongside colleagues from the Edinburgh based organisation “Matter of Focus”(https://www.matter-of-focus.com/about-us/) they have developed a shared theory of change\, identified relevant data and evidence and started analysing their data and information to tell the story of the contribution that each organisation makes. \nThis work builds on the  evaluation work that the Forum has already done and will be very helpful in considering the impact that the services of member organisations\, through the IJB grants they have received\, are having on communities across Edinburgh. \nThis session will showcase the work of forum members engaged in this process\, through a series of short presentations. DESCRIPTION:This is the last of four workshops. \nThank you for signing up to take part in the Action learning Set which I am delivering on behalf of Edinburgh Community Health Forum.  The aims are to enable you to learn from each other\, deepen your practice of problem solving skills by working with each other’s issues\, and at the same time hopefully lessen the isolation that many can feel. \nTo prepare for the day could you bring a challenge that you are working with that you would like to work on with support from peers.  Please note you don’t have to bring something. \n\nThe kind of challenges you might bring could include:\nA current development that puts into focus the need to improve an aspect of the way the board works\nAn issue that is affecting the connection to your local community\nAn opportunity that is exciting but where to go with it?\nA project that is struggling in some way\nJuggling with competing priorities\nStakeholder relationships\nGetting the most from volunteers\nNeeding buy in and followership for an idea.\n\nOverall the learning goes deeper and is more practical when the challenge you bring is current\, unresolved\, is important\, involves you and requires action.  It should be something you have already given quite a bit of thought to\, but it isn’t easy to work out exactly how to proceed. DESCRIPTION:This is the third of four workshops. \nThank you for signing up to take part in the Action learning Set which I am delivering on behalf of Edinburgh Community Health Forum.  The aims are to enable you to learn from each other\, deepen your practice of problem solving skills by working with each other’s issues\, and at the same time hopefully lessen the isolation that many can feel. \nTo prepare for the day could you bring a challenge that you are working with that you would like to work on with support from peers.  Please note you don’t have to bring something. \n\nThe kind of challenges you might bring could include:\nA current development that puts into focus the need to improve an aspect of the way the board works\nAn issue that is affecting the connection to your local community\nAn opportunity that is exciting but where to go with it?\nA project that is struggling in some way\nJuggling with competing priorities\nStakeholder relationships\nGetting the most from volunteers\nNeeding buy in and followership for an idea.\n\nOverall the learning goes deeper and is more practical when the challenge you bring is current\, unresolved\, is important\, involves you and requires action.  It should be something you have already given quite a bit of thought to\, but it isn’t easy to work out exactly how to proceed. During the afternoon\, we will run an action learning set process enabling us to work on a selection of the challenges. So not everyone needs to bring something.
