 Scenario Planning – working out the 3-4 most likely scenarios that would characterize the environment your organisation could find itself in 3-5 years time.  While you cant control the future, if there is a strategic behaviour that would do your organisation some good in more than 2 of the likely scenarios, then its logical to pursue that strategy.
